Sunday Service:
Our services are focussed on God’s Word, the Bible.
We sing a mix of Psalms (using the traditional Scottish Psalter and Sing Psalms (the Free Church’s own modern versification of the Psalms), Scripture song (Sing Scripture) and hymns with musical accompaniment. The words of the songs are usually projected onto the screen at the front.
Our Scripture readings are from the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Holy Bible. The reading is also usually projected onto the screen at the front, but church Bibles are also available. These readings are the basis for the biblical sermon that follows. We believe that preaching is of the utmost importance but that it ought always to be shaped and directed by God’s Word so that preaching presents the Word of God and not the thoughts of men.
We believe that the ‘word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart,’ (Hebrews 4:12) and therefore the more we are exposed to God’s Word the better.
Midweek Meeting:
The midweek meeting is an opportunity to gather together for prayer, fellowship and a Bible meditation during the week.
